The Leonardo da Vinci International Prize for the Arts is an award established by the World Cultural Council to recognize those who offer a positive message to humanity through the different expressions of art.
The award is given to a recognized artist whose work constitutes a significant contribution to the artistic legacy of the world. The award has been presented biennially since 1999. The judging panel is made up of internationally recognized artists, authorities, and members of the World Cultural Council.
As indicated on the official website, “It is a recognition of those who elevate our existence to a higher level through the beauty or inspiration of their creative talent.” In the years that the ceremony has been held, the place of the ceremony has been in a different city in the world. If we admit that the human being has five great areas of orthodox knowledge, although with different epistemological and methodological degrees and of verification and verification of the theses and conceptions issued from that knowledge, these are: science, technology, philosophy, arts and aesthetics, theology-religions.
The bases are laid in literature because there are answers of all kinds. For example, the father-son conflicts that Franz Kafka had in Letter to the Father were a response and inspiration for a series that I did when my father died. My work is related to literature.
Art and the Arts, which have had a place in human knowledge and expression since the most ancient times, perhaps one of the oldest forms of knowledge, or at least of expression, had to occupy a place in human commemoration. We cannot here refer to a “supposed truth or statement-judgment-concept-proposition”, which we call or falls within the category of Arts or Aesthetics, as having the same degree of reliability-verifiability-falsifiability, as Popper would tell us, as a knowledge-statement granted by science.
The “Leonardo da Vinci” World Award of Arts is a recognition of artists who “elevate existence to a higher level by the beauty or inspiration of their creative talent,” reads the official website of the World Cultural Council (WCC). It is awarded to a renowned artist, sculptor, writer, poet, director of photography, photographer, architect, musician or other performing artist, whose work constitutes a significant contribution to the artistic heritage of the world. The judging panel is made up of internationally renowned artists, authorities, and members of the World Cultural Council.
